Yustyna
Yustyna was born with an Atrial Septal Defect (ASD). The only effective method of treatment for this type of a heart defect is surgical intervention – implantation of an occluder.
In addition to a heart defect, Yustyna has an inoperable brain tumor, which constantly gives the girl convulsions and major health problems. Fortunately, the tumor doesn’t grow but the doctors insist on conducting a heart surgery as soon as possible.
Yustyna lives with her mother, who also has a disability and constantly takes care of her daughter. Her father is a real hero. Despite the fact that he is on a prosthesis and without one lung, which he lost in the war after a serious injury, he returned to the front line to protect Ukraine from the russian aggressor.
The price of an occluder, which is vital for the girl costs ~ $4,500.
This fundraiser is led by our partner Ukrainian school “New Wave “.

Diana
Diana was born with a diagnosis of esophageal atresia (absence of the esophagus). During her short life, she underwent 50 anesthesias and 7 extremely complex surgeries in Ukraine, and the last one almost ended in death. Fortunately, the girl survived, but is still struggling with the infection that was introduced after so many surgeries.
It seemed that there was no hope of saving the girl, but a chance for a normal life without torment and pain was given by German doctors in Cologne, who in 2011 performed an 8th complex surgery that lasted almost 10 hours. After that, the child was kept in a medicated sleep for almost a month so that she would not feel pain. Fortunately, everything went well. But just as there was nothing to make esophagus from, it was made from the stomach. The girl grows and it contracts, and until Diana continues to grow, she needs to do this procedure every +-3 years. Now this is an extremely necessary procedure, because the last time the esophagus was expanded back in 2018, and since then the thickness of the esophagus has narrowed to 3 mm, when a healthy person has 1.5 cm!
Diana is 15 years old, and all her life she dreams of being an ordinary girl who can eat food and not feel pain. And we can fulfill this dream by paying for the surgery in Germany, because the family does not have such an opportunity. Diana lives alone with her mother, the father is not in the child’s life. They live very modestly, without relatives and family support. Apart from you and the help of the Blue Sky Ukraine Foundation, which provided constant help and support in 2023, there is no one else with them.
Now we are waiting for an invoice from the hospital in Cologne (Germany) to pay for all the necessary medical examinations, esophagectomy, necessary medications, etc.
According to preliminary calculations, all medical and non-medical expenses (travel, accommodation, etc.) will be about $9,000. For a mother and daughter, this amount is not affordable, but for all of us it is quite real.
We are asking you to join our efforts and save the child’s life!
